About the hotel
The recipient of a Silver Award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme, Mount Edgcombe offers quality refurbished accommodation, excellent freshly cooked food, free car parking and a convenient location.
This small privately run establishment prides itself on the service and attention it offers to guests. There is a fully licensed bar, a comfortable guest lounge and an excellent choice of optional evening meals.
Mount Edgcombe is conveniently located on a level, tree- lined avenue. The train station and the English Riviera Centre are just a few minutes’ walk away, and a 15-minute walk will bring you to Castle Circus - the heart of Torquay's shopping area. The nearby promenade provides a lovely stroll along the water’s edge towards the harbour.
Please note that Mount Edgcombe is an entirely non-smoking establishment and does not accept group bookings.
Breakfast is normally served from 08:30 to 09:15, but we are usually happy to provide earlier breakfasts if you need to make an early start. We offer a wide choice on our breakfast menu, so that you can eat as much or as little as you like and as healthily (or not!) as you like. All breakfasts are cooked freshly to order, using good quality, locally sourced produce.
Our 4-course evening meals are served at 18:30 and are bookable in advance or on a daily basis. We use an excellent local butcher for our meat, fish from Brixham docks and fresh vegetables are bought daily in order to provide tasty home cooked meals. Vegetarian options are available. Our extremely varied dessert menu includes a wide selection of home baked favourites.
We are a strictly non-smoking hotel.

Cancellations
If cancelled up to 7 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Situated in a quiet and secluded part of the hotel, the Edgcombe Suite is perfect for that special occasion, whether it be a wedding anniversary, a birthday or any special break where you want a peaceful, pampered and relaxing few days. Recently completed, the Edgcombe Suite consists of a superior bedroom that has all the facilities of our standard rooms and in addition top quality furnishings and amenities, including a TV with Freeview digital channels and co-ordinated complimentary toiletries. The suite also has a large bathroom which definitely has that wow factor. The bathroom has top-quality fittings, including a double walk-in shower and a double whirlpool bath. Soft, fluffy bathrobes provide the finishing touches.

This deluxe twin/double room is one of our larger rooms and has been totally upgraded in 2008 to provide modern and sophisticated accommodation. Both the room and the en suite have top quality furniture and fittings. The room has a flat-screen TV with built-in Freeview digital channels and DVD player. This room has twin beds which can be linked to form one king-size double bed. Please state when booking whether you require twin beds or a double bed.

Directions
Travel from m5 Exeter to the a38, then follow signs for Torquay a380. At Newton Abbot, you will reach Penn Inn Roundabout. Take the second exit signposted Torquay a380. At the next roundabout, go straight over the a3022. Do not turn right (continuation of the a380). Follow the a3022 into Torquay. At the sixth set of lights, get into the a3022 right hand lane (signposted sea front, harbour, Paignton). This is Avenue Road. The Mount Edgcombe Hotel is situated just under half a mile down on the left hand side (second hotel after the next set of traffic lights) opposite Cockington Primary School.
